What To Expect During an Eyeglasses Fitting

Get to Know Us

Whether you’ll be wearing your new eyeglasses all day long or just for driving, reading, or watching TV, you will want glasses that are both stylish and that will improve your vision. This is why we offer a wide selection of optical products including not only eyeglasses and contacts but also sunglasses and safety glasses. Once you have made your choice of frame color and shape, and our optician has taken accurate measurements for lens positioning to avoid distorted vision, we will order them and let you know as soon as they arrive so that you can come in for an eyeglass fitting.

The Right Fit for You

We want to make sure the frames fit your head properly and are neither too loose nor too tight. The former would not only be annoying since you’d be constantly nudging them back into position but increasing the very real possibility that they slide down your nose and fall to the ground and break. The latter frame fit would result in pinching the sides of your head and leaving imprints on the side of your face over time, possibly contributing to headaches.

If they don’t feel right, or you can’t see as properly as you could when you were measured for them, the manufacturer may have made an error and the glasses will need to be replaced. Or perhaps the optometrist will want to examine your eyes. The important thing for us is that you, the patient leave our optometry practice, Southwood Eyecare with eyeglasses or contact lenses that are so comfortable you forget you are wearing them.
